Despite Bravo replacing the entire cast of Real Housewives of New York City, series alums Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan have been keeping busy. Aside from their hilarious new spinoff series, Welcome to Crappie Lake, the dynamic duo recently jetted off to St. Barts to film The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.

In a chat with Decider, the two women dish on what fans can expect from RHUGT Season 5, where they reunited with Kelly BensimonDorinda Medley Kristen Taekman and Ramona Singer at the infamous Saline Beach house featured in the fifth installment of RHONY.

“We went to St. Barts. We went back to the scene of the crime,” de Lesseps jokes. “We had a great time. It’s Scary Island Part II meets the Pirate.”

While Morgan adds that they’re all “really good friends” and viewers can expect a “few surprises,” that doesn’t mean they were out of the woods with drama — just don’t expect their spats to mimic the “dark” scandals that Bravoholics have grown accustomed to over the last few months. We’re looking at you, Vanderpump Rules and The Real Housewives of New Jersey!

“There’s always drama when you have that many women together. But it’s fun drama,” de Lesseps says. “It’s not, like, dark and dirty. It feels happy, clean, like the first Ultimate Girls Trip, which I loved doing. I think fans are really gonna love RHONY together once again — the OGs are back.”

It’s been years since the original RHONY cast has filmed together after Bravo decided to put the show on hiatus and ultimately replace the cast altogether due to a lackluster Season 13 in 2021. While there is a new set of women coming in to fill their shoes, Morgan knows that viewers are “chomping at the bit” for some new content from the veteran reality stars.

“[Fans are] highly invested in our lives and we inspire them somehow, because we’re the OGs,” she says. “We’re not just starting out. This isn’t our first rodeo. And they like to see the way we roll in St. Barts. It’s exciting. You’re gonna see some really glamorous places.”

With the once-standalone spinoff RHONY: Legacy being reduced to a season of RHUGT, de Lesseps suggests that a show focusing solely on the original cast traveling might be something fans would want to see in the future.

“We could go anywhere. I think that The Real Housewives of New York — traveling in itself is another entity,” she says. “… I think that, you know, as the cast, that we could travel the world and people would want to tune in.”

Now that’s something we can get behind!

In the meantime, you can catch de Lesseps and Morgan renovating the small town of Benton, Illinois in their new show, Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake, which premieres on Sunday, July 9 on Bravo.
